Boyd Dunlop is originally from Palmerston North and moved to Wanganui, then Marton in 1965, where he worked as a Traffic Officer liasing with schools and kindergartens on road safety. He has lived and worked in various places, including Upper Hutt, Rotorua, Turangi, and since 1978, Wellington where he has worked in various management positions in Government
departments.
Boyd has been involved with the Presbyterian church since his youth, and he and his wife now attend Johnsonville Union Parish. He has served on the Parish Council there, and for nearly 20 years, a member of the Presbytery. Co-convened the local arrangements for the Presbyterian General Assembly when it has met in Wellington. Boyd is married with two adult daughters and three grandchildren.
Boyd brings not only a wealth of community and church experience to this role of Moderator, but also his particular strength of relating to others with compassion and humour.
